Mystery No More
--When I try and knock on the door but the answer seems ambiguous--
I was initially struck by the sparkle.
Glitter and layered colors around the eyes.
Eyes that seemed both wide open and closed.
All at the same time.

People are intrigued.
Some have too much interest.
Others are a little bit wary
Of the woman and her self-preservation.

One day I found her reading poetry.
I discovered that the mystery woman
Was full of curiosity.
More than most.

We have talked off and on.
Our own ups and downs.
Sometimes aligned and sometimes not.
I am in my final stages.
At age 37, she is just beginning--
After a few starts that left her wondering
Who and where she is and was-so I gather.
There is a deep creative soul
Behind the public presentation.
I so hope she has people around her.
To cheer for her.
To pick her up.
We all await the merging
Of the art and the person.
The time is right—now.
For as she said to me-
This is the best I have felt about myself.
The mystery is no more.
